Super styling at the Chequers Inn, Woolsthorpe

Kelly and Michael chose the wonderful Chequers Inn, Woolsthorpe to bring friends and family together to celebrate their very special day.  I had the pleasure of working alongside three wonderful ladies, handpicked by Kelly to style, photograph and provide the cake! The couple were keen to use local suppliers and create an intimate day for those dear to them.

Winter Wedding at Stoke Rochford Hall

I love a winter wedding.  Probably because I chose December to tie the knot myself and as I arrived to deliver Emma and Harry’s wedding flowers on this crisp frosty morning (beautifully captured by Dottie Photography) I had that lovely warm feeling of nostalgia in my belly.  There was much excitement as Emma and her glamorous maids were busy getting ready upstairs, whilst Harry and his friends calmly organised and chatted in the stunning dining room and orangery below. It was a wonderful and emotional day with the couple also expecting a new arrival in 2017!

Emma chose ivory roses, anemones and silver eucalyptus in her bouquet.

Arriving in Style

Tasha and Tom were keen to use local suppliers and British blooms to celebrate their special day.  Following the ceremony in the quaint village of Redmile, they made their journey through the picturesque Vale of Belvoir by horse and carriage to The Manners Arms at Knipton, where they joined family and friends for a vintage summer party.

Tasha chose dahlias, roses, cosmos, herbs and fountain grass for her pretty seasonal bouquet.

Helena & Richie – Such fun!

Back in June, Helena and Richie celebrated their big day in true style.  They chose the ancient village church in Gaddesby, near Melton Mowbray and then travelled up the hill to a magnificent marquee, which nestled beautifully into the rolling countryside at Helena’s Aunts home.  We used pale pink and white avalanche roses, gypsophila, lisianthus and lashings of silver foliage to compliment the maids dresses, creating a soft and subtle effect.

Woodland Style Wedding In Colston Bassett, Nottinghamshire

I knew from the moment I met Fiona and her Mum that this wedding was going to be special.  Family and friends played a huge part in organising the event and I was blown away by the attention to detail, when I arrived to deliver the flowers on this beautiful summers day.  The stunning couples smiles were infectious and the marquee, which nestled beautifully into Fiona’s parents garden, was the perfect back drop for a truly memorable day.

English Country Garden Style Wedding, Stathern

The sun shone, the garden was set, the church was full of seasonal blooms for Rachel and Alex who wanted an English country wedding in the Vale of Belvoir.  It was wonderful to see the wedding party parade through Alex’s home village of Stathern, enroute to St Guthlac’s church, where friends and family eagerly awaited their arrival.
The celebrations continued in a beautiful marquee, lovingly decorated by friends and family, situated in Alex’s parents stunning ‘quintessentially English’ garden.

Ready, Steady, Sow!

As the days start to get a little longer, we get off to a flying start with the sowing of our annuals and the planting up of the dahlia tubers. Many people wonder what a flower grower gets up to during the winter months, when the ground is hard and there’s little warmth from the sun. Well this winter we managed to publish our web page, start constructing the new workshop, although Dale snapping his cruciate ligament hasn’t helped (football boots well and truly hung up!!) and my favorite job of selecting and ordering this years seeds.
